Listen

playback.

rpm keeps a history of what you play and when. From that history and from an analysis of each track it makes playlists and recommendations, all from music you own. It also plays internet radio and casts to speakers in the house.

playlists made from your listening.

Thirteen smart playlists fill themselves from your listening history, for example your favourites, the songs you played several times this month, favourites you have not played in half a year, and music you have never played. Five mood playlists (Chill, Adrenaline, Dancefloor, Focus, Lights out) are made from the measured energy and tempo of each track and the tone of its lyrics, and can be narrowed to a genre or a decade.

  • Your mix leans on what you play at the current time of day.
  • Generate a new list at any time, and save one as a normal playlist.
  • Exclude an artist or an album from recommendations.

internet radio.

rpm plays the stations in the Radio Browser directory, tens of thousands of them. Turn the dial or search, filter by country, genre, format and advertising, and save stations. rpm shows the song on air, whether a station carries advertising, and when an ad break starts.

dj mode.

Start DJ plays a playlist as one continuous mix. rpm matches the beats at each change, adjusts the tempo from one track to the next, and picks transitions by key. It uses the tempo, key and beat grid it measured for each track on import.

casting.

rpm plays to Google Cast speakers, speaker groups and TVs on your network. The equaliser and the visualisers keep working while it casts. On a TV, rpm's own receiver shows the record, the song details and a seek bar. Next and previous work from the speaker, the Google Home app and Google Assistant.
